We can all be music composers. Come learn to draw musical scores! No experience necessary. Bring an instrument if you have one. Instrument not required.
Unlike traditional Western music notation on a five-line stave showing exactly which pitch, duration, and accent should be played, a graphic score can be interpreted differently by each person who plays or sings it. Creation of graphic scores is akin to creating visual art, and they can often express linear development of a story, emotion, or experience. In addition to creating and interpreting original scores, we will engage in group improvisation and interpretation of our scores.
