New Beginnings: Intentions and Resolutions
As endings and beginnings coincide and coalesce—seasonally, societally, politically, and more—we gather to reflect on how to navigate change: remaining rooted in the present while honoring the past and opening to the future. In this Sacred Writing Circle on New Beginnings, facilitated by Gianluca Avanzato, you are invited to explore and articulate your intentions and resolutions for the coming year through guided meditations and writing exercises. Together, we will create a sacred and communal container to hold our excitement, anxiety, uncertainty, and awe at the future unfolding before us.
Participants will leave with original, written pieces around the following questions: What are my intentions for the coming year? What am I leaving behind? What am I welcoming in? And how do I hope to navigate the uncertainty of the road ahead?
Everyone is welcome: no religious/spiritual affiliation nor creative writing experience necessary. A warm welcome is extended to LGBTQIA+ folks as well as those who have felt left out or cast out by traditional religious institutions.
Gianluca Avanzato is a writer, artist, musician, and teacher from Oneonta, New York who holds a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School and a Diploma in Interreligious Studies from the Angelicum in Rome.
Please bring something to write with and on. Tickets are $15 for this gathering, and space is limited.
