Sacred Writing Circle with Gianluca Avanzato

Summer Solstice: Connecting with Brother Sun

As we approach the summer solstice, we witness and experience the immense power of the sun. In this Sacred Writing Circle, facilitated by Gianluca Avanzato, you are invited to turn, like the earth, toward this special star, the Sun, which powers and sustains life on our planet. With tailored readings and creative writing exercises, we will survey solar theologies across space and time—Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, and Medieval Europe—and explore the sun’s role in our own spirituality. Participants will leave with original written pieces and plenty to ponder.

Everyone is welcome: no religious/spiritual affiliation nor creative writing experience necessary. A warm welcome is extended to LGBTQIA+ folks as well as those who have felt left out or cast out by traditional religious institutions.

Gianluca Avanzato is a writer, artist, musician, and teacher from Oneonta, New York who holds a Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School and a Diploma in Interreligious Studies from the Angelicum in Rome.

Please bring something to write with and on. Tickets are $15 for this gathering, and space is limited. Secure your spot below!
