Local herbalist and herb farmer, AC Hill is back at The Gatehouse for our first plant walk of the season!

Meet at the shop to grab a delicious beverage and meet the fellow plant walkers before embarking on a journey around the block to discover the plants that are popping this spring. We will likely see some edible spring greens that can make a delicious stir fry or frittata such as nettle, dandelion, chickweed, cleavers, garlic mustard, and more. Perhaps some spring flowers will be making a show for us.

AC will share her stories and knowledge about the plants medicinal and edible uses, and help you to be able to recognize it again in your own yard. If you love to learn about plants or share your own knowledge about them, please join AC and The Gatehouse crew for this fun and interactive experience.

Dress for the weather, if it's raining we can take a shorter walk, gathering some plants along the way and bring them back to The Gatehouse to discuss further in the dry space.

AC Hill (she/her) is an herbalist, farmer, and teacher growing herbs to make into herbal remedies at her small herb farm in West Edmeston, NY about 25 minutes from the Gatehouse. She sells her high quality herbal products at the Cooperstown Farmers market every Saturday under the name Traveling Herb Farmer. AC loves teaching hand on medicine making classes, leading plant walks and running her online herb school, The Actaea Institute of Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy which offers some online workshops as well as an 8 month diploma program.
