Both a gardening workshop with an interactive demonstration and a seed swap, this is a perfect chance to welcome in spring and get your fingers in the dirt. In this workshop you will learn the fundamentals of seed starting and get a chance to see, feel and experience the process. The goal is for everybody to understand the different requirements that different seeds have for germination, so that when you read the directions on a seed packet, you know exactly what that seed needs to thrive. Different seeds require different soil mediums, light, temperature, depth of planting, as well as stratification, different kinds of scarification, and timing. We'll start some seeds together in class. If you have seeds to share, bring them for the seed swap. While this class will cover a lot of the basics, we welcome seasoned gardeners to join in on the discussion of plants and the seed swapping (as we love to do). Tiny envelopes and markers to label will be provided for the seed swap.
