This workshop is for all levels and it will be brisk — not because writing a song should ever be a race but because we will have limited time together and I want to encourage you to throw yourselves into the act of songwriting without hesitation.
Hesitation can be any creator’s enemy. When you are writing, don’t try to be an editor. Those are two different jobs that take place at two different times.
Songwriter Stephen Clair has been teaching songwriting classes to adults for years and these classes are wildly popular (beloved, really), and there is a waiting list. In those classes, participants write a new song every week, and the group conversation that goes on around those songs is powerful, insightful, ands heartfelt stuff.
In today’s workshop, Stephen will share a wide range of advice and paths to making something out of nothing. There is every reason why every participant in today’s workshop will write a song in the mere time we have together.
According to Stephen, most of what songwriting requires is for the writer to allow it to happen. Tickets are $35
Followed immediately by a performance from Stephen Clair in the main room.
