We are thrilled to present Erica Bradbury as our May Artist in Residence—a painter, craftswoman, and founder of Species by the Thousands, whose work beautifully blends the intuitive, the spiritual, and the handmade. Please come by to meet her and see her beautiful work Saturday, May 10th, 3-5 pm.
Originally from New England and now living and working in the northwest Catskills, Erica is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in Fine Art. Her meditative paintings and drawings serve as pathways of personal liberation, offering intimate explorations of light, color, and form. In her work, small details become sacred—expressing the relationship between inner and outer worlds and inviting viewers into a quiet space of reflection and connection.
As an artist and musician, Erica’s work has been shown at Pioneer Works, The Clocktower Gallery, Printed Matter, and Roulette. She holds an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania, and her creative voice carries through all aspects of her practice.
Alongside her fine art, Erica is also the founder of Species by the Thousands, a design and craft studio she began in Brooklyn in 2006. Now based in Margaretville, NY, the studio creates handcrafted aromatherapy mists, essential oil roll-ons, soy candles, artisan jewelry, and natural incense blends—all inspired by the healing powers of the natural world and spiritual outsider traditions.
During her residency, Erica will share both her visual art and select offerings from Species by the Thousands.
