Join us on Friday, April 10th at 6:30 PM for a special screening of the award-winning documentary Killing Me Softly With His Songs. The evening will begin with a brief introduction by local film producer Taryn Grimes, who will also be in attendance.
The film offers an intimate portrait of legendary composer Charles Fox, tracing his journey from the Bronx and his musical studies at the Fontainebleau Conservatory in France to a celebrated career in Hollywood. Along the way, audiences revisit iconic songs and television themes including Killing Me Softly with His Song, I Got a Name, and themes from beloved series like Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, The Love Boat, and Wonder Woman.
Recipient of Best Music Documentary at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, the film features appearances from artists and cultural figures including Common, Henry Winkler, Paul Williams, Rita Wilson, and Jason Alexander.
Taryn Grimes is an award-winning producer, director, and actress whose career spans Broadway performance and acclaimed documentary filmmaking. Her work includes producing Killing Me Softly With His Songs, and The Bronx, USA.for HBO, as well as notable documentary projects for American Masters.
