Shake off winter and step into a season of creativity. In this generative writing workshop, writers of all experience levels will explore the beauty and symbolism of spring and flowers through guided prompts, discussion, and creative experimentation. Drawing inspiration from the vivid floral paintings of Georgia O'Keeffe and nature-centered works by artists and writers such as Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet, participants will discover new ways to observe, imagine, and translate the natural world into language.
Through short readings, visual art, and playful writing exercises, we’ll explore how flowers can become powerful metaphors for memory, change, growth, and place. Expect a supportive, low-pressure environment focused on generating fresh material, whether you write poetry, prose, or something in between.
Come ready to look closely, write freely, and let the colors and textures of spring bloom on the page.
No prior writing experience necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to create.
$15 per person. Please bring paper and a writing utensil.
