Lumen Printing with Jenny Riffle

Explore the intersection of art and nature in this hands-on workshop with photographer Jenny Riffle. Using sunlight, photo paper, and found natural materials—like leaves and flowers—guests will create lumen prints: unique botanical studies that reveal the delicate shapes of the natural world.

This process is entirely darkroom- and chemical-free. Instead of a traditional fixer, each participant’s work will be scanned to preserve the images. Everyone will leave with their own scanned files and digital print capturing the quiet beauty of nature’s impressions.

Jenny Riffle is a fine art photographer whose work explores myth, memory, and the passage of time through richly detailed, narrative imagery. A graduate of Bard College and the School of Visual Arts, her photographs have been exhibited internationally and featured in publications including WIRED, The Guardian, The New York Times, Telegraph Magazine, Glamour, and VICE.

Riffle’s practice often reflects her deep attention to the natural world and the poetry found in the everyday. She lives and works in central New York.

$35 per person, price includes one print made during class, any addition prints $10 each, please feel free to bring any plants, leaves, flowers you would like to try in the lumen printing process or you may use some we will provide.
